The Ultimate Guide to Protect Your Family From Destructive and Corruptive Influences in Nigeria

The Ultimate Guide to Protect Your Family From Destructive and Corruptive Influences in Nigeria Think of this, You are about to send your little boy to school, and it is pouring rain. How do you handle the situation? Do you let him go skipping out the door without any rain gear? Sure you won't!. You give him just what is needed to keep him dry. In a similar way, As a parent, You must find a balanced way to protect your family from destructive influences that rain down on them from many sources – The entertainment industry, the media, peers and at times even the schools. Sad to say, some parents are so restrictive, making the children feel as if they are suffocating because such parent believes that all outside influences are harmful while some parents do little or nothing to protect their family. The point is, you should try to have a balance few of situations around your children. Let us consider some ways you can protect your family.

Talk To Your Children About Sex
It is not best to shield children from any mention of sexual matters. If you don't talk to your children about sex and give them the proper education, they will find out themselves from sources that may have a negative impact on them and make them not to see the dangers involved in pre-marital sex. It is better to teach your children about sex yourself. Let them know the dangers involved and how to protect themselves from predators. One father said and I agree “Ever since the children were very young, we've tried to be totally frank with them when it comes to sex. That way, when they here other children talking about sex, they are not curious.

Do Your Homework

As a father or mother, you must be ready to counteract other false ideas that may be thought at school-either from schoolmate or even teachers. Show a genuine interest in your children's schooling. Talk with them after school. Ask what they are leaning, what they like most, what they find most challenging. Look over homework, assignments, notes and test results. Try to get to know their teachers. Let teachers know that you appreciate their work and that you want to help in any way you can.

Be your Children's Friend

As a father or mother, you want to
develop a close relationship with your children. If you are not close to them, they won't be able to open their heart to you and tell you what they really feel inside. Always have a private time with your children individually. Perhaps you can tell them about your youthful age. If you can be close to your children, they will be more comfortable to discuss just anything with you and that is the only way you can be in a better position to help them.

Help them choose the right friends

Bad associations spoil useful habits. Youths, in particular, are susceptible to peer pressure. They tend to be uncertain about themselves and may at times feel overwhelmed by a desire to please and impress their associates. How vital it is, then, that they choose good friends! You know, children will not always choose well who their friends should be. They need some guidance. It is not a matter of choosing their friends for them but rather, as they grow, teach them discernment and help them to see what qualities they should value in a friend. Know who your children's friends are. You can even tell them to invite their friends home so that you can meet them. You might also ask your children what other children think about their friends. Applying these in your family will help you protect your family from destructive influences.
