There is hardly anything more difficult than promoting a new blog .
First because no-one knows about it, hence word-of-mouth will only bring you so far, second because it is empty, so even potentially interested readers won’t get all they need, and third because Google did not have a chance to properly index your content.
Those are the reasons why a major key to blogging success is patience. Like with all content marketing efforts, you need to count a minimum of 6 months to one year to start seeing results.
That being said, there are a few things you should do to boost your results:
Write quality content
It most certainly sounds obvious but it isn’t. You must understand what your potential audience is looking for, what they need to learn, what they want to read, before you could write good content. A good article answers a specific question, solves a specific problem. Start with finding the problem, then provide the solution.Distribute your content
Regardless how great your content is, no one will find it if you don’t distribute it.
Use your newsletter, Social Media, network, curation platforms, etc. to make sure everyone knows about it.
However, don’t believe quantity outcome quality - from Google’s perspective, bouncing rate is an important element of your indexing. In other words, better have 10 readers who spend 5 minutes reading you article than 100 visitors who stay less than 5 seconds on your page.
Talk to Google
Make use of Google Search Console, build a sitemap, build RSS feeds, use analytics, use rich snippets, etc.
All these steps make it easier for Google to understand your content and therefore index it and drive traffic to it.
I hope this helps?
