Best way to market your blog

It depends on your target audience and type of posts.

You should first work on improving your organic traffic  with some linkbuilding and guest posting. Try figuring out and finding some websites and blogs where your audience is likely to hang out and try to get a link to your blog posted there.

At the same time, you should promote your social media and try to grow your audience by engaging them on Facebook, Instagram, or whichever your audience is most likely to use. The groups of people active on Pinterest vs Linkedin are very different, for example.

You can also do paid campaigns on social media, with specific targeting. This could potentially show you that your target group isn’t quite what you planned to be.

AdWords could also make sense, but can be rather pricey, depending on the competition in your category. Are people more likely to search for the kind of content you’re posting on Google or pick it up casually from social media?

Other ad netwooks, like Taboola, can work well, too. It’s the kind that shows up on many websited under their posts as “Suggestsions from the web” or “Trending now” or something along those lines. Those ads can be quite edgy, though, so your audience may be among the people that see through that and just skip the whole thing.
